I am back! (Again)

Hi..

It's been a long time..

With all the busy works on my teaching activities I always spare my time doing my passion, sewing and quilting. With all the difficulties in sewing or quilting actually removed all the stress in me 😁. As a mother I have tried to divided my time with family, my passion, my cooking and my students. I know it's not as easy as I thought, but I tried my best.

A couple of weeks, I have finish some sewing projects, laptop case quilting and bucket hat. As usual my cat always accompany me while I sew.

Roger the Cat

Bucket Hat

It's not my first time making bucket hat. I tried this one with different pattern, and I used Batik. There were some difficulties to sew bucket hat, one of is when we joint part by part by using a lot of pin with  circle shape 😎.

Batik bucket hat

Laptop Case

Another project is hexagon laptop case quilt. Its quite a long project, since I have to joint some hexagon english paper piecing (EPP) and has to quilt (its a hand quilt though..😊). The laptop case is for my 13" MacBook Air.  I'm happy caused I'm sure no one have laptop case with this motif and model beside me 😉. I choose random motif with cotton fabrics, some of scrappy fabrics.

Sometime in our crowded life, we need to be calm by having our passion, just find your own passion you will spend your life meaningful. Passion means a very powerful feeling of something you like, love, your dream. You will be happy when you're doing it, without feeling exhausted or angry.

My Roger always make me feel comfortable....💖

I'm happy I could writing on my blog again, tell all about my sewing works. I have other passion besides quilt, cooking and baking also make my life happy. The link of my recipe blog is warm kitchen and I promise will update the recipes 😄.

Doctor Bag Hand Quilted

Good day,

Here's another bag I made this week. Doctor Bag for a lovely lady who has the same name with me. It was not like my others doctor bags, I hand quilted on the front and back of the bag. So these took a little bit longer in the making cause the quilting process.

Picture taken in outdoor

I used original handle for this bag, as per customer requested. I bought the fabric from my Indonesian friend who was living in Japan. The motif was so attracting, jungle with the animal on it. With all kind of trees. So greeny. I love it.

Doctor bag need a frame around the 'mouth' bag, The bag looks roomy, with the 2 kind of pockets, with zipper and non zipper. And complete the zipper closure,

Another day with another bag, feeling thankful for all the blessing that God gave to us.
Feeling greatfull as always

Enjoy your every single beautiful day...

....And then I decided to make a cushion, a simple one. A simple project. I combined with local cotton, green stripes and solid red. The size were 40x40 cm. Hand Quilt.

I enjoyed making these. And I want to make it again. Someday...

Multipurpose Pouch from Story Quilt

Dear Quilters,

Its raining again this morning. I wish I could back to sleep and back to my cold pillow :) But I had to get up and run my daily routine as a mother of 3 amazing kids. Early morning has to take my 2 kids to school. Then take care for the smallest one. After everything done I'll back to my quilt.

My current project is a pouch. I saw a Japanese blog. It was an awesome blog. The blog name is Story Quilt. I learned so much from there. How to quilt without using a hoop, how to make a nice pouch and bag, and so much more. Every body can make a bag or a pouch but in correctly there are not many.

I try to make one from those website. But I prefer using my local fabrics instead of Japanese fabrics. In Indonesia Japanese fabrics are so expensive. I make a flower applique at the front of the multipurpose pouch. The size of background pieces are 2,5x2,5inch. Randomly color and motif. Otherwise you could make this from your stash. That's why there so many stash boxes I have :)

Assembly the flower applique

After finish quilt the background and the applique. Stitch the two sides together and make an oval shape. Honestly, It's a hard effort to make the bottom of this pouch. We need so much help from our pins. Use as many pins you have to make it. I put a bias to cover it.

Then I make the handle

I put some accessories on the back.

assembly the handle

Finally, I finish the project. it's a cute pouch. I know it is not as pretty as the story quilt made. But this is quite enough good for the first time, I guess.

Ok, have to pick up the kids.

Enjoy the day, Quilters...

Batting Process

Actually, this is my second quilt. I have been doing this quilt not long after my first quilt was finished. I have no machine yet at that time. All by hand including quilt. This pattern was designed by Pat Sloan. I saw this pattern on Mc Calls quilting magazine, a study of yellow.

Now, this project still on hand quilt progress. Hopefully could finish it before December.
