English Paper Piecing - Hexagon

Hi!!

It's been a long time since I wrote this blog. My last post was year 2022, now is year 2026. Time flies..but I always love patchwork and quilt. Because of my activities as a lecturer, I rarely do my patchwork and quilting. I have so many UFO (unfinished objects) and I'm not proud of it 😅😅😅. My passion will be my full time job when I retire..

Let me show you my currently project...

I always love hexies patchwork, I have so many fabric waste and from waste I could make a beautiful masterpiece. Surely this would takes times to produce a nice product, according to the time spent doing it..since this works 100% hand work.

My Hexies English Paper Piecing

Hexies patchwork is one of english paper piecing patterns. We could do this without using sewing machine, we just need needle and thread and go fun. I usually bring this when I go on holiday or sometime I bring to my office. This could be release my stress 😆. We only need patience when doing it.

I plan to make bed cover from hexies patchwork and I know this will need so many hexagon patterns, I have no idea when will this finish..

    My Lovely Cat - Mocky

There are so many projects ahead to be finish, lets we finish with happiness and fun time..
I'll give you the complete stories of my quilt and patchwork journey..

Cheers

I am back! (Again)

Hi..

It's been a long time..

With all the busy works on my teaching activities I always spare my time doing my passion, sewing and quilting. With all the difficulties in sewing or quilting actually removed all the stress in me 😁. As a mother I have tried to divided my time with family, my passion, my cooking and my students. I know it's not as easy as I thought, but I tried my best.

A couple of weeks, I have finish some sewing projects, laptop case quilting and bucket hat. As usual my cat always accompany me while I sew.

Roger the Cat

Bucket Hat

It's not my first time making bucket hat. I tried this one with different pattern, and I used Batik. There were some difficulties to sew bucket hat, one of is when we joint part by part by using a lot of pin with  circle shape 😎.

Batik bucket hat

Laptop Case

Another project is hexagon laptop case quilt. Its quite a long project, since I have to joint some hexagon english paper piecing (EPP) and has to quilt (its a hand quilt though..😊). The laptop case is for my 13" MacBook Air.  I'm happy caused I'm sure no one have laptop case with this motif and model beside me 😉. I choose random motif with cotton fabrics, some of scrappy fabrics.

Hexies Laptop Case

Sometime in our crowded life, we need to be calm by having our passion, just find your own passion you will spend your life meaningful. Passion means a very powerful feeling of something you like, love, your dream. You will be happy when you're doing it, without feeling exhausted or angry.

My Roger always make me feel comfortable....💖

Sleepy Roger

I'm happy I could writing on my blog again, tell all about my sewing works. I have other passion besides quilt, cooking and baking also make my life happy. The link of my recipe blog is warm kitchen and I promise will update the recipes 😄.

My Weekend Project

Hi !

It's October already, miss my outside activities, hanging around on Starbucks coffee in Filateli Pasar Baru, just chit chat with my hubby or doing my research paper. In this pandemic, all Starbucks store serve take away only. The impact of this pandemic, off course their income is reduced, the parking man (we called it Babe) is also experienced it. I hope everything back to normal. Aamiin.

This weekend project is....Bucket Hat.

I have so many works and chorus to do this whole weekend, but I tried to release my stress by sewing and making something that I liked. And bucket hat is my choice. I have three bucket hat, but I forgot to take a picture the last one.

I make from Linen, Batik cotton with and without linings. the train motif with lining is firmly, and the zigzag without lining is a little bit limp (linen fabric).

I am using my bucket hat for outside cycling with my hubby. It's cover me from the sunshine and I don't have to wear a sun glasses. My youngest kid request to make another one with train fabric motif and he likes it 😍

See you on next weekend project..

Hi!

How I miss this writing in this blog. Last written is on 2015, 5 years ago. I'm still active in sewing, quilting and patchwork. Because of my new job as a Lecturer makes me not writing anymore. Since 2016 I work as a Lecturer in Civil major on Institute of Technology PLN. My chorus as a Lecturer was so plenty and comes and go, I have to teach, doing a research and community services.

Since March 2020, I have doing an online teaching during Covid19 pandemic and mostly stay at home. When I worked from home, I've doing outdoor cycling in the morning, then cooking for my kids and started work from my laptop. Hopefully, we are keep healthy and always in a good condition.

On March 2020, I started make a face mask, and had many orders from my friends. I chosen Linen as my face mask fabric, but sometimes used cotton Batik if any requested.

A Pile of Mask

I forgot how many face mask I've been made, maybe around 50 masks or more maybe 😀
Some of my customers knows my products are from Facebook and Instagram. They loves my mask because of my motif and color, so funny and cute. Some of repeated order for their family also.

Ready to Deliver

I made my self for the packing. I used brown paper to wrap my mask. As much as possible I minimize plastic use, Do a little things for a better world, better environment. Below are my packing, I put on sticker to identify for man or woman. Off course, need a lot effort to make this packing, but I am happy, this is part of craft things. And my customers like it so much and proud of my action.

Face Mask-for Man and Woman

One of my lovely customers

Pinky face mask

I made a lot of pink color face mask for a girls/women and I made a dark color for man. I also made for kids with different size. I know it's a bit of a hassle for me, but I tried to finished all the orders. There are so many face mask maker at the beginning of Pandemic, and now I no longer make face mask because of so many my Lecturer duties.

I hope this Pandemic soon to be over and we keep healthy always....💪😊

Doctor Bag Hand Quilted

Good day,

Here's another bag I made this week. Doctor Bag for a lovely lady who has the same name with me. It was not like my others doctor bags, I hand quilted on the front and back of the bag. So these took a little bit longer in the making cause the quilting process.

Picture taken in outdoor

I used original handle for this bag, as per customer requested. I bought the fabric from my Indonesian friend who was living in Japan. The motif was so attracting, jungle with the animal on it. With all kind of trees. So greeny. I love it.

Doctor bag need a frame around the 'mouth' bag, The bag looks roomy, with the 2 kind of pockets, with zipper and non zipper. And complete the zipper closure,

Another day with another bag, feeling thankful for all the blessing that God gave to us.
Feeling greatfull as always

Enjoy your every single beautiful day...

My Newest Bag

My 3rd accordion wallet in the making (I Guess).
I am getting like this kind of wallet. Beginning when I bought this kit from Umi Fidh. And looked at her tutorial on her blog. It wasn't an easy for me to understand clearly as I am not the expert of a wallet maker. But now I am get in to it. I made a little modification on the wallet.

Look at the label, it wasn't put on the right position :)

Pouch and Wallet

I am so happy making this couple. This is my first machine quilt wallet and pouch. I usually do the hand quilt. But this is an option. Definitely machine quilt is more quickly than hand quilt. In my opinion, hand quilt is the best way to show you how art it is.
I am so in love with this motif. Flower pink. I love pink colour, but not many people like it.

I love it, but I have to released it. Someone likes this a lot. He gave this as a birthday present to his wife. I hope his wife would like it.

Enjoy your day quilter,
xoxo

Quilt Labels

Dear Quilter,

Today I am trying to design a label for my Quilts product. I am looking for a logo from Google. There are so many unique and nice logo for quilts. I Like all the design labels. Make me confused. But I found two simple labels. I have save and editing this and that...

These are the labels...

Alternative 1

Alternative 2

I prefer alternative 1 but there are three kinds of colors, the printing price is more expensive the alternative 2. For 2,5cm height and 1 roll around 750 thousand rupiahs approximately USD.75. Its printed on fabrics.

I decided to choose alternative 2. I love the font design. and the cute sewing machine off course.

Back to quilt..

(I posted this on my hubby office)
